Since 2014 Dinah has lived by the Thames Estuary. The juxtaposition of nature and industry in this landscape inspire her and drive her work.
Dinah creates in her studio, working mainly in oil or acrylic paint and print. She works on several pieces simultaneously, she rarely has a finished image in mind when starting a piece, believing here is where the real creativity can be found.
This open approach gives an edge and freeness to her work. Ideas and themes are worked through the different mediums she uses, enjoying the differences these techniques bring to her work.
A play between solid and void is a common theme, with colour, light and line toying with each other. Dinah loves the element of chance and change in the printing processes, finding the process can liberate an image and bring further experimentation and freedom to her subject and methods.
Dinah studied at Norwich School of Art, graduating with a 1st, she was artist in residence at Gresham’s School and taught art in London. She has exhibited in London, Bath, Norfolk and Essex. She exhibits annually with Leigh Art Trail. At Pencil tree Gallery in Bath, she also exhibits in various sites with the Minus 5 Collective.
