Danny’s paintings focus on capturing the atmosphere and energy of a moment, while also reflecting the passage of time. His work is built through process, using staining, charring, scoring and expressive brushwork to create depth and movement.
He describes himself as a process painter, allowing the act of making to shape the final outcome. Pigment seeps into the canvas, surfaces are burned and carved, and repeated gestures leave their mark. Each painting carries evidence of its own making.
At the centre of his practice is a sense of exchange — between artist, material and surface. The result is work that feels both immediate and evolving, instinctive yet carefully resolved.
Danny is an artist on a strong upward trajectory. Based in Blackburn, he has presented solo exhibitions in London, alongside group shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Belgium and New York.
His confident use of colour, combined with a carefully considered approach to surface and mark-making, results in striking, layered works with real presence. These are paintings that bring depth, atmosphere and focus to a space.
